Become an expert in something you love, or try something shiny and new. From athletics and astronomy to photography and pioneering, there’s something for everyone.

Visit https://www.scouts.org.uk/scouts/activity-badges/ and https://www.scouts.org.uk/scouts/awards/ to find out more about each of the badges and what you have to do to earn them. You can also buy a handy badge book from the local scout store or online. Sometimes we also share resources on our Facebook Group or on our website.

You can also download your own badge poster below.

When completing badge work be sure to take photographs, videos, write or draw what you have done. For some badges, you might ask a coach or instructor to sign that you have done everything. Your parents can send photos of these to Leaders online anytime or you can arrange with Leaders to present to the pack at a future meeting*.

You can also see your progress on different badges completed at Scouts on OSM by visiting https://www.onlinescoutmanager.co.uk.

But remember, it isn’t just about earning badges – it’s about having fun, learning new things, trying something different and developing skills for life.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Challenge awards and nights and hikes away staged badges are to be completed during our programme and not normally at home (with some exceptions).
  • Staged badges can be progressed throughout your time at 1st Markfield at Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
  • *You need to arrange with Leaders when you can present badge work – it’s not possible to do this every week, we will agree at date with you.
  • We keep a limited number of badges in stock, if we don’t have any in we will need to order them from our local scout store and this may take a few weeks to arrive.
