What does the role involve?

  • Identify communication channels to help with recruitment and making sure Scouting is known in the village.
  • Build connections with the local community.
  • Coordinate communications and channels – including local noticeboards, herald articles, social media and website (note, you don’t need to do all of these things alone, but act as the main point of contact).

Do I need any experience?

We are looking for someone who is organised and can coordinate activity – you could do this from home, at any time. You might have some responsibility of similar tasks in your daily work life. Whatever your experience, you won’t ever be alone – you will also be supported the support group, group scout leader and scouts HQ.

What if this isn’t right for me?

You will be supported at every step of your journey and if you decide that this isn’t right for you, that ok. There are lots of other ways to volunteer.
